DNA in ten minutes (BBC Focus)

August 2015 //  I was recently given the challenge of explaining DNA in its entirety “in ten minutes” for BBC Focus magazine.

This crash course in genetics covered everything from nucleotides, base pairs, chromosomes and genes, to inheritance, protein transcription, evolution and genetic modification, with a timeline of significant breakthroughs and discoveries.

The magazine’s cool In Ten Minutes regular feature allows readers to ‘become an expert’ on huge and complex subjects by reading just one article, with ‘jargon-buster’ and ‘explain it to a friend’ segments. Previous topics covered include quantum physics.
